Part 2: Budget and Cash Flow Deeper Dive

September 9, 2020@1:00 pm-3:00 pm EDT

Part 2: Budget and Cash Flow Deeper Dive

2-hour online workshop

How do we plan for multiple futures in uncertain times?  What are our financial goals and values? How can we make budgeting processes more accessible so we can become more powerful together?

In the second workshop of our online series, we will share templates and examples of an organizational budget, ways to present information to your team, and tools for engaging groups in financial decision-making.  This workshop is infused with solidarity values and gives time and space for participants to support each other and share their wisdom. While applicable for all types of organizations, we will be using nonprofit templates and materials in this particular iteration of our online series.

Alex Fischer

Alex Fischer brings a social justice perspective to bookkeeping & organizational finances. They believe that financial literacy is critical to building economic justice and creating truly democratic organizations. Alex prioritizes supporting collectively-oriented business and organizations with leadership comprised of queer, trans, & POC folks. They are a self-taught bookkeeper and hold an MBA in Managing for Sustainability from Marlboro Graduate School in Brattleboro, VT. Alex spends a lot of time building community around racial justice through their work with The Root Social Justice Center. They bring games and a liberatory approach to financial management.

Annie Sullivan-Chin

Annie is an all-around nerd who loves teaching herself and others about accounting and organizational finances. She realized she loved accounting when she started working in worker-owned co-ops over 10 years ago. As a bookkeeper, Annie can testify to how critical it is to have our finances in good shape in order to keep doing our important work and make sound business decisions. Connecting financial skill-building with collective liberation is Annie’s passion and she is honored to offer ABC’s bookkeeping and training services to social justice leaders and movement supporters everywhere.
